Quirky, heartfelt

I had the rare opportunity to watch this movie before it went out on DVD. Am very happy for the folks who made it that it is one of the few independent films to pick up a distribution contract (only about one out of every 18 make it). It won important awards at film festivals across the world. Lots of folks will recognize themselves in this quirky, heartfelt film. I love the music as well, especially two songs by Janice and Jayne White, “Amazing Love” and “It’s About Me,” which appear at a turning point and at the ending credits.

We all face moments in life when we have to break away from the confines of our community, the expectations of our peers, and the strings of our family. Wooden Watermelons addresses these challenges in a thoughtful and beautiful way. Wendy English shines both as the director and star of this film, a colorful drama with a brisk plot and memorably developed characters.

Excellent independent film with a great message, no sex scenes or violence. The cinematography in this film is superb, and all the acting is superb. It’s a sweet film that will surely open up your eyes, and make you realize that you have to take risks in life. Definitely a well directed movie, that everyone should see!Jude Farnie is twenty-five years old, and life in the isolated community of Beaumont, Texas is all she’s ever known.Content to care for her mother Grace and her elderly grandmother Nofia, Jude’s inexplicable stagnation betrays her deep-rooted desire to strike out on her own life-adventure.Upon graduating from college for the third time, however, Joy quickly discovers that the only thing she fears more than change is things staying just the way they currently are, and always have been.

As a co-owner of a daycare, and being male, I was really interested in catching this movie.
First of all, the kids are really cute. Especially the kid who plays Ben, Eddie Murphy’s “son”. But the entire cast of kids did a fantastic job.
I love Eddie Murphy so I wasn’t surprised to be entertained by his antics (he has the best facial expressions in everything he does, very likeable). But I also wanted to applaud Steve Zhan who did fantastic as a Star Trek geek. I guess he stood out for me because he reminded me so much of myself especially when around fellow Trekkies.
As a daycare provider, I did find some things entertaining. I’ve heard the horror stories from parents looking for a daycare, so the scene of Ben’s parents trying to find a new daycare was quite funny. The scenes of the house being destroyed… oh, there is no way around that with a group of kids. You’ve got the inspector who we need to deal with on a regular basis (of course, we had to pass inspection BEFORE opening unlike this movie, but it was fun to see the interaction with the inspector).
One of the things that made me go, “yeah right” was the competition aspec. No, I’m sorry, Day Care is not a cut-throat business. Actually, there is a lot of business to go around and there seems to be no dominate player that nobody can raise a candle to. That idea was very laughable to me, and I’m sure to anybody else who catches this movie. But the plot would be thin without this aspect, so I can somewhat understand. But I should deduct a star for the very idea…
…But I won’t, and only because of the one thing I appreciate most about this movie. Other than some brief questionable parts, this was a fairly clean movie that you can feel comfortable having the entire family watch. Bravo for making a family movie, more need to be made. It was nice to watch a movie and not grimace or have to turn it off because I’m sitting next to my son. Hopefully some of the Hollywood Execs take note as the success of this movie.

My friend brought this over for us to watch and my husband gave me the “look” as he slowly settled down to watch.I could hear him groan, “Oh no! How long is this movie? It’s about what?”, but by the end of the showing even he was smiling. Eddie Murphy does an excellent job of playing Charlie, a man who lost his job when his ‘Veggie-O” cereal line did not make the production line. After being dismissed he and his friend Phil decide they will open a Day Care Center! Ah…….now the fun begins as the Dad’s take on the everyday antics of the little ones and the wrath of one Mrs. Harridan, owner of a more ‘uptown’ Day Care Center that seems to be losing it’s student to “Daddy Day Care.”Angelica Huston, who plays the part of Mrs. Harridan, does an outstanding job as the villian in this flick. There were quite a few chuckles from many scenes in this movie and the children were absolutely adorable! Reminded me a little of the movie “Three Men and A Baby”, only this was three men and 14 babies and more! I enjoyed this movie, it was clean, fun and left you with a good feeling! Good job to all the actors, even the little ones!

A pleasant-enough evening out for the family

I took the whole family, hubby kids and all, to see this, and it was an entirely acceptable evening out for everyone. It’s not much higher in quality (writing, acting, etc.) than your average TV sitcom but the premise you came to see (Eddie Murphy plays with some kids) is played out predictably and amusingly, right down to the potty jokes.
Sadly Angelica Houston is wasted in a badly-written part as the villainous headmistress of a rival snooty daycare `Academy.’

“Monster-In-Law” is not the train wreck I was expecting, but it could’ve been so much more.Charlie (Jennifer Lopez) works a series of temp jobs and enjoys everything she does, making ends meet. It makes life interesting. One day, she meets Kevin (Michael Vartan), a doctor, and they quickly fall in love. Kevin’s Mom is Viola Fields (Jane Fonda), a successful Barbara Walters-like network news anchor, with problems of her own. Kevin brings Charlie to his mother’s estate to meet her. Kevin decides to propose, in front of his mother. Viola clearly disapproves and sets about breaking them up. As she and Ruby (Wanda Sykes), her assistant, set a series of events in motion, Charlie gradually begins to realize what she is working against and fights back.”Monster-In-Law”, directed by Robert Luketic (“Legally Blond”, “Win a Date With Tad Hamilton!”), frequently veers into sitcom territory.The acting is very broad and cartoonish. At one point, Charlie, having pulled one off on Viola, shakes her head and sniggers, much like a Hanna Barbera cartoon character. Lopez’s character is all over the place. At one moment, she appears to be normal and caring and sympathetic, the other, she is acting like Peg Bundy from “Married with Children”. Fonda, returning to feature films after 15 years, is clearly having fun chewing the scenery. And it is fun to watch her. But she is so over the top and Lopez is over the top only part of the time, that it seems like a bad sitcom. Wanda Sykes is very funny as Ruby. Her natural allegiance is with Viola, someone she has worked with for years, maybe decades, but she isn’t beyond dressing down her boss, pointing out the problems with her theories. When she realizes that this isn’t going to stop her boss, and Charlie is a stronger adversary, she begins to root a little for her. Michael Vartan (from TVs “Alias”) is a very handsome guy, but he is virtually non-existent in this film. He is such a flat, boring character that he gets completely lost in the wake of Hurricane Fonda and Tropical Storm Lopez.The film would’ve worked better if the two lead actresses were more complimentary. As Fonda chews the scenery, Lopez moves from trying to portray a real woman to matching the overblown antics of her co-star. It might have been more successful if one of the two were cartoonish while the other was more natural. Providing more balance to the proceedings. Or, if they were equally outlandish. As it is, the film seems unbalanced. Strange.This sort of story naturally lends itself to a darker tone, but the filmmakers have steered clear of that. If the story moves slightly towards “dark territory”, it quickly veers back into the safe and sunny territory everyone feels was necessary to earn the film mass acceptance. At one point, Viola is so fed up with Charlie that she is about to smash up some almonds and slip them into Charlie’s food. Earlier, Charlie remarked that she was allergic to nuts. Ruby talks her out of it. Why does she have to talk Viola out of it? The story sets up that Viola is more than a little egomaniacal, more than a little crazy, more than a little excessive. It seems like her character would go through with something like this, no matter what. They pull Viola back because they want her to remain sympathetic, for the sappy, sweet ending.I did laugh. More than I expected to. Much of this laughter was created by Wanda Sykes. Ruby is the type of all-knowing character every lead used to have. Think Thelma Ritter in the 50s. A couple of her one-liners made me laugh out loud.Because the filmmakers pull the punches, they rob the film of any dark humor and relegate it to the annals of forgettable comedies on the shelf of every video store throughout the country.From all of the horrible reviews I have read, I was expecting “Monster-In-Law” to be completely dreadful. I was surprised that I found myself laughing at the absurd situations. Certainly worth checking out on video, but a bargain matinee is pushing it.

Great from start to finish. The story fallows Charlie (Jennifer Lopez)one day, she meets Kevin (Michael Vartan), a doctor, and they quickly fall in love. The acting is great all the characors do great jobs. Theres Jennifer Lopez who is innocent and then fights back and it’s hallarious when she fights back. Then theres Jane Fonda who is perfect as the mother in law from hell. Wonda Sykes dose a great supporting role. the movie has reat one liners that will elave you laughing. The movie is predictable but it’s still lots of fun froms tart to finish.

This movie isn’t as bad as a lot of reviewers make it out to be. In a sea of unrelenting bad box office movies, this film at least keeps it’s head above water. For Jennifer Lopez fans, there is enough sweetness factor to keep them happy. The plot is familiar and formulamatic, yet light and often funny. Charlie (Lopez) has lead a life of many part time jobs and is getting along just fine till she has a chance meeting with Dr. Kevin Fields (played a bit woodenly by Alias’ Michael Vartan)and falls in love. Things couldn’t be better until Kevin arranges for Charlie to meet his mother, Viola Fields (Fonda)a talk show host put out to pasture by her network and recently released after a break down from a hospital who has nothing left in life but making her son’s prespective dates miserable. Kevin chooses to ask Charlie to marry him in front tof his mother and the hijinks begin. Viola has other plans and is hell bent to break them up. But as misery loves company, Charlie decides to fight back. Throw in Wanda Sykes as Viola’s personal assistant who wants no part in this struggle and this makes for some very comical moments. Sykes is great in her small role but really chews on the scenery and makes the most of a role written far to small for this large comedic talent. The movie is largely entertaining but you may want to rent it before actually making the purchase. Worth a viewing at least.

I’d just like to point out that Amazon has it mislabled, splitting one season into two parts and labling the second volume as the second season. It’s NOT. The second season will start airing in Fall of 2013, under the new subtitle Defenders of Berk. I hope Amazon will be able to correct this error.

My son (3) loves HTTYD, but my husband and I were at a point where we needed something different…you can only watch the same movies over and over and over again so many times. So, when we found Dragons: RIders of Berk, it was a welcome relief. A lot of the same character voices came over to the tv series, so that is great for continuity, and the show maintains a good level of writing and plotting. It’s something that all of us can enjoy watching together, and doesn’t rely on inappropriate or double meaning jokes to make it enjoyable for a wider audience. Vol 2 picks up just at the end of Vol 1 and continues the great stories seen there. The animation quality is somewhat less than the movie, but that is to be expected, but in most other aspects – writing, voices, plots, story – the series does very well and is a great addition to our movie library selection. I particularly like that there is focus on some of the other dragon varieties and riders aside from just Hiccup and Toothless – don’t get me wrong, I love Toothless, but it is neat to learn more about the other characters as well!

I used to watch these with my dad. Glad to see they are available for download. Today it’s as much a case study of former American propaganda narration as a chronicle of the events. It shows how the war was described when it was still only recent history.

You cannot judge this movie by conventional standards. This is not meant to be Roger Rabbit for adults, it is not meant to be Citizen Kane, it is not meant to be Wierd Science. It is meant to be a completely different genre all by itself, and must be judged as such.
This movie scares me. Not in the sense of “it scares me that anyone would make a movie this bad,” but more in the Blair Witch Project kind of scary. What it lacks in plot and scripting, it makes up for in atmosphere and creepiness. The “wooden nickels” scene is an example of this; some guy throws a handful of wooden nickels to some innocent kids, and the nickels proceed to open their mouths and devour the unsuspecting children. It’s this kind of random, disturbing event that makes Cool World worth watching. This is a wierd movie for when you need to go on a major acid trip but you don’t want to actually put drugs into your system. It is the movie to watch when you want to leave all reality and morality behind and think about what could happen if we could interact with cartoon characters in a cartoon world that, unlike the “toontown” of Roger Rabbit, resembles our own world much more closely than we’d like to think.

I can understand everyone else’s opinions about this movie…true, the script was a little messy…true the animation interaction with live action was quickly done…but all that is beside the greatness of this film, this movie remains one of my favorite movies of all time. WHY?
Because this movie is much more than what it is…obviously there are hidden messages/images in this film…especially in the ending when Holli picks up the “spike” on top of the tower in the real Las Vegas. The title “Cool World” is meant to be a sarcastic quotation. Holli seems to portray evil in the most appealing way. There is a lot of evil going on in the backround and foreground in this film throughout. Temptation (I believe) is the main subject, but there are other subjects tackled in the movie as well.
If you have only seen this movie once…it deserves a second look…and if you still don’t get the message, then I can only say that “Cool World” is a reflection of who people really are, and it is ironic that so many people seem to hate this film. You simply cannot compare this to “Who Framed…” that film was a typical disney flick…Cool World is a satire of our society.
Kim Basinger’s cocky acting as the real Holli, was done on purpose (I believe). Because it shows what would happen when you take someone such as a cartoon charater out of it’s own environment. Kim Basinger pulled that off really well, she was supposed to appear more animated then the doodle Holli.
I don’t even believe Holli is really a doodle…and if she is then obviously she may be the ‘demon’ of Cool World, besides all she does is use people throughout this picture…and whenever she is around…evil is in full effect…and when she’s put in her place at the end…Cool World’s scenery has changed a bit.
I’ll leave the rest of this stuff to your own imaginations…I won’t spoil it, cause there is much more in this flick. Cool World is a very complex film, and seems like it was written as a puzzle for people to figure out later on. Every time I watch it I noticed something about it that I didn’t notice before. The themes in this film are very depressing, dark and gothic and a little to real, so I would not reccomend this picture to children; and I believe it was not intended for children. Cool World deserved better for sure. Highly mis-understood.

I’ll tell ya… if I read one more review written by someone born after 1980 dissing Bakshi, I think I’m going to start kicking rump and taking names. Do people diss Disney? Hardly, until they became such a movie mill that they are computer generating what used to be created by hand with a loving touch.Look at “Cool World” as the AntiToonworld of “Roger Rabbit”. The characters are psychedelic, psychotic, retro and bent. There is a great deal of (expected) sexuality and lewdness, pushing the edge of the PG-13 as far as it can go. Lots of puns and inside jokes it takes an adult to appreciate, something Warner Bros. cartoons were masters at. Granted, they don’t always hit the mark here, and there’s more chemistry when the Doodles are on than when the Noids take over.But I dare anyone to watch that scene with Holli cooing “Let’s Make Love” to a sweating Mel Torme wannabe while she’s having trouble keeping her Noidness intact and not feel the simulataneous urge to salivate and giggle. The transformation of Noids to Doodles when the wand is removed is humorous… a lounge lizard literally becomes one, a cowboy becomes a horse, a female lead a blank eyed Orphan Annie.The end cap, where Byrne’s character becomes a dim witted but sincere superhero, is happily reminiscent of Captain Sternn from “Heavy Metal”.Yes, the acting is practically phoned in. Yes, the plot is odd. But get over it, folks, it’s adult animation, and it’s entertaining. I watch it again and again… and I always laugh.

I can’t tell you how annoying it is that so many “yoga” videos are just promoted and filmed as fad “lose weight” or “get your butt toned” or some other garbage that yoga is not actually about. Finally, here we have a REAL yoga class taught by a very proficient teacher. This is as close to being in a real studio with a great teacher as you can get at home.This is yoga in it’s basic, holistic, well-being-promoting form. No gimmicks here, no attempted “coolness” or anything fake, just the real thing. If you are able to do all of the exercises through to the end, you will feel an immediate, palpable boost to your circulation and wellness. That said, I am about 40 or so pounds overweight and found it hard to sustain some of the poses because my belly got in my way; but I did do it all. If you are over 60 pounds overweight, you may have a hard time achieving the poses, but even coming close will benefit you and daily practice will increase your flexibility and leanness. The rhythm of the video is excellent, the repetitions deepen the poses, and the flow or order of poses works very well to lead into the next. The instructor is one of the best on video ever. She has an accent, and I’m 90% sure she is from Argentina (I’m Latin; I can tell), but I’m not sure why anyone would negatively comment on her accent. She is clear and very eloquent throughout; her voice is relaxing and the music is non-distracting. I really also appreciated that the people in the video were real people who were not all “perfect” synchronized yoga robots. It was really like being in an actual class.The program ends abruptly while in “Shivasana” or corpse pose (the most relaxing) so you can just linger there if you need to! Very relaxing and yet invigorating at the same time. I could feel my blood flowing and body tingling afterwards.If like me you have Prime then you can do this video for free, then you’re lucky! I would buy it if it wasn’t free after trying it out. I plan to add this to my regular regimen. Excellent program. I also recommend any kundalini video by Gurmukh Kaur Khalsa–she is the real deal too (she is an anglo-American; so no accent there if that tends to bother you for some weird reason).

Jenny Corneo is very calming with a nice Spanish? accent which I had no problem with hearing clearly. This is done in a large industrialized space with concrete floors but beautiful simple mostly white walls, drapes & other simple decorations. There are 4 other students, all in different shapes & ethnics and 1 of them being a man. The production could be better, but the camera angles have artistic sweeping shots, zooms in, move around to different angles slowly throughout. The music is VERY light, almost don’t hear it, but it’s very soothing & beautiful.Jenny has a relaxed style, she goes in/out of each pose with you, and then during helps fix other students postures. She tells the benefits of each pose as she helps other students. She usually has a relaxation after each pose for several seconds or so usually reclined, but sometimes child’s pose. She only does the usual sun salutation poses at first, nowhere else. She has great body awareness and the session really flowed. The music is very light, almost don’t notice it, but the session was healing.Gastro-Intestinal: 55 min – She starts with alternate nostral breathing, lying down stretching, rocking on spine, sun salutations with crescents, laying down, alternate leg stretches, double & basic holding leg lifts with shoulders off the ground for ab strengthening, shoulder stand, plow, boat, bridge, fish, easy table, bow, triangle, warrior 1, cat/cow, single seated fwd bends, both leg sitting fwd bend, twisted sage pose, standing fwd bend & then relaxation.Depression: 55 min – starts the same as above with breathing, lying down, rocking spine, sun salutations, lying down, alternate leg stretches, double & basic holding leg lifts with shoulders off the ground for ab strengthening, boat, lay down, shoulder stand, plow, bridge, fish, single sitting fwd bend, cobra, cat/cow stretch, child’s pose, sitting spinal twist, standing fwd bend, triangle, warrior 1, standing wide legged fwd bend & mediation for w/reclined lion’s pose for 5 min w/her mostly still speaking & the music louder & beautiful.someone said that on another disk of this series, they took the same class & just edited differently. I was mostly paying attention to workout, but upon replaying, they are right. but the music is still wonderful & the practice is still peaceful to me… I rented this.

The postures have really helped improve the chronic stomache problems which I have had for years.I can’t begin to say how thankful I am!!!!!!!!!I recommend these dvd’s to everyone, they will change your life.

In the early Eighties there was a garden industry of films about “losin’ it”, “Risky Business” being the “Citizen Kane” of the genre. Most of them were pure exploitative garbage with little or no redeeming social value. “My Tutor” was labeled by some as falling in this category. Don’t be fooled. Yes, there are gratuitous nude scenes here. This was probably thrown in to make the bean counters at Crown International happy. The makers of this film actually attempted to make something profound. Siskel and Ebert at the time championed this flick on their show. The relationship between the virginal Bobby (Matt Latanzi) and Terry(Caren Kaye), his French tutor, is palpable and believable. The love scenes between the two are explicit but not in an exploitative way and there’s a certain tenderness to them. Sex is only one part of the love they share and the conversations between the two are just as compelling. This film also showcases a young Crispin Glover who impresses and shows what might have been if he hadn’t gotten wierd on the Letterman show. The term “buried treasure” is bandied about on alot of films but “My Tutor” definitely falls in that category.

When watching “My Tutor”, I think U2 stated it best “Sometimes you can’t make it on your own.” In other words, watch this movie with a friend, so you can enjoy the idiotic, yet simplistic storyline of this cult 80s classic and laugh together. Or if you lose conscious from how stupid, unbelievable, vapid and silly most the movie is and at least there is another person with you who can call for help.Before I go any further, this movie is such a guilty pleasure for me and I love it, I’m man enough to admit it.As for the movie itself, I will do my best to explain, starting with the plot. Bobby (Matt Lattanzi) has just graduated from high school, sort of. Bobby has flunked his French class which is the catalysts to the amazing plot of this prolific film. Since Bobby has failed French he will not be permitted into Yale. This notion doesn’t sit well with Bobby’s father, so daddy pulls some strings, since he is a Yale alumni, and a compromise is made: if Bobby can pass a French exam of 85% or higher, he can go to Yale in the fall.Consequently Bobby only has the summer to prepare for this test, so daddy gets him a private tutor. Now to make matters even more exciting, Bobby’s private tutor is a sexy blonde, 29 years of age named Terry (Caren Kaye). I don’t know about you, but Bobby should be thinking really hard about buying his dad a nice father’s day gift. The quagmire now is can Terry bring up Bobby’s French skills so he can score at least an 85%?This is the part I never saw coming, but Terry and Bobby become involved intimately and romantically. This relationship develops despite the fact that Terry is chic and a world traveled woman, and Bobby is a naïve and inexperienced young man. It appears that this attraction develops out of no where, at least on Terry’s end. A great deal of things are thrown at this unorthodox couple; the difference in age, the grapple of “education or love making”, Bobby’s father and Terry’s ex-boyfriend. Yet this is one summer either one of them will forget anytime soon, but will their love last?There is also a funny, yet humdrum subplot with two of Bobby’s friends. They spend the better half of the movie trying to get Bobby and themselves laid in some of the most precarious and droll situations. This does produce some laughs and plenty of gratuitous nudity. One of Bobby’s friends is played by no other than Crispin Glover A.K.A George McFly from “Back to the Future”. Who in many ways appears deranged throughout the entire film, a definite plus.I also have to say that Bobby was somewhat androgynous in this movie. He was really super sensitive and many times spoke in a high pitch, whiney voice. To listen to Bobby complain or protest against Terry tutoring him in French was actually really hilarious and vexing simultaneously. I really found it interesting that Terry was into Bobby, it screams more about the demons in her past than any skeletons that might be in Bobby’s closet.It was very amusing that Bobby’s home in many ways mirrored a college campus. It appears that his home goes on for miles and miles. Consequently, Bobby rides a motor scooter that would fit the profile of Peter Parker more than a rich teenager from California. Bobby’s rich father couldn’t buy him a car, rather a motor scooter. Perhaps daddy is in the oil business and not giving Bobby car is adding to the family’s wealth. Just a side note, there is a scene with Bobby and scooter that I found so comical I had to turn the DVD off and walk away from the television for ten minutes.I am totally unconvinced that Bobby’s father, being Yale alumni and three steps below God in the financial department couldn’t pull more strings to get Bobby into Yale. Why would an elective high school course like French hold so much merit on whether or not student should get into Yale? I guess with respect to plot, a French tutor is much sexier than a tutor in Botany.There are several “MacGuffins” (events/things/characters basically unimportant to the story, yet are present) in “My Tutor”. For instance, Bobby’s mother being an airhead, Terry swims in the nude at night, the focus on Bobby’s maid and gardener only speaking Spanish and Terry always exercising in a women’s aerobic class that is an equation of Richard Simmons VHS multiplied by Jane Fonda Beta tape. Oh as for the bubble gum pop theme song, “You’re my tutor, WHOO; teach me anything you want me to learn.” If there is anyone out there that knows where I can find this song, I am not sure what your reward will be, but it will be worth it.”My Tutor” was made in 1983, which was the beginning of a very memorable decade and this movie really showcases music, fashion, the hair and the carefree, yet somber attitude of the spirits living in the era. The day might come when we as a modern society are erased from the planet due to war, famine, global warming, political and/or religious genocide or yetis that will eat all people. Under the assumption this does transpire and some odd race of aliens visit Earth years in the future or a mutation of humans evolve on Earth millions of years from now. Both of these groups’ sole purposes might want to understand the prior human race that inhabited the planet many, many moons ago. Giving these conditions, the DVD of “My Tutor” can and will provide a lucid picture and/or a time capsule of history in the 1980s.

What a summer to never forget.. This guy gets into a lurid, yet sweet love affair with a really beautiful French tutor and then sets himself up for a score on another amazingly beauty of his own age at the end. The end of the movie the main character guy jumps for joy. WOW I would too. .. I was taken aback somewhat on how drama-less MY TUTOR is. The movie pace is tepid and calm. The characters are just having a nice time, in a nice place in nice weather, and they seem aware of these facts and don’t bother to get really angry or upset about certain plot events. It’s just a summer fling. Another classic Crown International flick. The actors are attractive, the scenery nice and there is mischief and fun to be had.One glaring missed opportunity is the kid’s parents give him a big birthday party. Like rich people do it’s catered with a live band. Seems unfortunate the movie budget didn’t allow for a quality musical act. The group shown is an unknown new wave group which I am guessing really is not a group at all but rather actors.. and lame actors at that… and sound horrible! If a better band was inserted here, it would have elevated MY TUTOR a whole lot. I wouldn’t expect Duran Duran, but any simi-known new wave 80′s band, or any group with some talent would go a long way. Oh well that was a shame..But I really enjoyed this very light summery flick. The actual tutor Caren Kaye is soooo attractive in a cute but striking way. She is addictive to watch.

It’s been a while since an episode of Sunny had me dying from laughter and replaying scenes. This episode reminded me of earlier classics that the last few seasons have been lacking.

I can’t give away anything about this episode without ruining it. It was brilliant from beginning to end and the twist just blew me away.All the characters had great moments but Charlie especially owned this episode.Reminds of of why I got so into this show in the first place. It’s amazing to think they can maintain this level of quality after so many seasons.Just brilliant writing all around.Dennis was awesome too.

Probably the best season in awhile. Good to see the original creators writing the episodes again. With Glen, Charlie, and Rob back at the writers desk it’s off to a great season! I can’t wait for more episodes!

This is one of the most delightful films we have seen in a long time. The story is warm, and meaningful, with excellent character development, plot, acting, dancing, and music. And it teaches morals and ethics, to boot.Tyler Gage (Channing Tatum) is a down and out, teenage foster kid, stuck in a family with a harried foster mom, struggling to support the family; a beer guzzling, TV-addicted, couch potato “dad” and two younger foster siblings, just as lost as he is. He hangs in his run down Baltimore neighborhood with Mac Carter (Damaine Radcliff) and his little brother Skinny (De’Shawn Washington), whose mother works at night, which is when the boys routinely get into trouble.Tyler and Mac regularly jack cars and sell them at the local chop shop. On Saturday nights, they drop in at a neighborhood night club, populated by the occasional gunslinger, but with the best break dancing anywhere. And Tyler is a natural.One weekend night, after being threatened with a gun and fleeing the club, Tyler, Mac and Skinny run through the streets, kicking cans and carelessly tossing refuse. Then one of them accidentally hits the window at the Maryland School of the Arts. Skinny decides to smash the window completely, and before long, the boys are in. They ogle the halls and showcases until Tyler finds the auditorium and heads for the stage, awed by the costumes, sets and props, which which the boys are soon dancing–and smashing.Tyler takes the rap for his friends, who flee into the night. Sentenced to 200 hours of community service, he at first wants nothing more than to finish his time, mopping floors, changing lights and collecting trash.But while making repairs on a ladder one afternoon, he witnesses a series of inept male dancers trying out as the partner for Nora Clark (Jenna Dewan). They trip, they fall, they drop her. They stink. She goes through them all, and then wonders what to do. She needs a stand in until her regular partner recovers from his sprained ankle. Tyler offers to catch her. She hesitates, but when he convinces her that he’s serious, she is surprised to see that he not only can catch her–but do it gracefully.An appeal to school director Gordon (Rachel Griffiths) wins her hesitant support for Tyler to temporarily take the role. Over the next few weeks, he helps her to rework the piece, jazzing it up, and adding several more dancers he has recruited from around the school. He also convinces her to let her talented friend Miles Darby (Mario), revise the music, after Nora’s erstwhile boyfriend Brett Dolan (Josh Henderson) drops Miles from his group to sign a New York recording contract.There is some really original music here, some great dancing, and a wonderful plot, emphasizing the importance of friendships. It’s a heartwarming story of success in the face of adversity, and tragedy. A great family film that teens especially will love.–Alyssa A. Lappen

I expected good things from this movie, and i was completely blown away! Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan are spectacular dancers! Channing Tatum is also a feast for the eyes, but we knew that after She’s the Man. The movie had a great plot and a beautiful love story. I hope everyone enjoys it as much as I did and I highly suggest going to see it!
